DESIGN GALLERY

HICKSON ROAD

The workplace is spread across three floors and is designed for multiple adaptations. The strong and modern colour scheme is based on the original woven rugs that were reconditioned in the early 1990s when the Government restored the building to its original appearance both inside and out. The deep reds, blues and greens add accents of colour amongst soft neutrals, dark timbers and rich leather furniture. Working within the heritage building required great sensitivity so as to preserve, respect and showcase the integrity of its original features. Infinite Design Studio incorporated the Dutch-influenced fireplaces and bathrooms in the original Steam Boat Chief’s apartment on the top floor, and the original staircase, which remains a fine example of Victorian-era architecture, winds its way from level to level.
